Nursing Project Reflection

Working on this project was pretty easy in the beginning, for my group. We all worked hard on our portion and we had no major conflicts. The easiest part of working on the team was delegating the responsibilities of each team member. The very first week that we received the project my group met, and claimed the part of the project we felt we could do best. Each one of us felt confident in our ability to do well within the boundaries of our responsibilities. This gave us immediate confidence and a belief that we would be successful in our project goals. The most difficult part of working on the team was getting the entire group together. Although, we met every week since September, the entire group was only present twice. Many times there were …show more content…

I chose Reverence because at times I have a hard time respecting those who have severely wronged others. For example, I do not feel that rapist, murderers, and thieves deserve any respect. These people are only debts to society, and I do not see why they should be coddled as if they are not deplorable human beings. It is hard to recognize the dignity of a person, who has stripped that away from others. Also, I honestly do not know if I would give the required help to a person who has committed any of these atrocities, so I would hope to improve myself in that way. Lastly, I hope to improve in the value of Service. At times I am not very compassionate, I have a very cut and dry personality and it is hard for me to understand how people feel, even in tough situations. I very much feel that people should put their emotions aside and continue to move forward. I am easily frustrated when people are agitated merely because of a bad day.I feel that it is nobody business but their own, and they should move

In terms of patient experience assisting frontline nurses whilst my mother was in hospital after a major surgery the task which involved transferring her to another bed in the next ward over via a wheelchair. The nursing staff and I were mindful of avoiding injury to staff and myself as well as the patient at the same time watching my posture plus doing manual handling procedures and guidance from the nurses. I performed the maneuverer correctly as I was able to advise the nurses to lower the trolley (bed) to the wheelchair height then lift the headrest forward so my mother is sitting upright before carefully moving her body onto the wheelchair in a one motion move by holding one side of her shoulders then pulling her gently and carefully towards…

However, sceptics have questioned how the concept is sometimes interpreted, arguing that there is unclear logical and pragmatic examination of its value in professional development. Therefore, developing a reflective report is an undertaking that needs to be approached with caution, more so if individual reflection and critical thinking are to be rooted. The purpose of this reflective report is to reflect on the collaborative boat bus project performance and the experiences of working within a multidisciplinary group. The report will give consideration to the feedback we obtained from the client and from Adam Smith (tutor) and how we then applied this feedback to feed in the report writing. An iterative model, meaning learning through participating, somewhat adapted to the one in Bulman and Schultz (2013)’s ‘Reflective Practice in Nursing p232’, Gibbs (1988)’s reflective cycle explains the significance of the evaluation process, especially building on negative as well as positive feedback.…

First, what worked well was how our group integrated our individual skills together to complete the project. When we introduced ourselves and what our concentrations were, it was easy to determine what roles and responsibilities we would take on. We worked individually on our tasks before meeting together and integrating everything into the final product. The problems that arose primarily concerned communication and scheduling group meetings.…

Nurses are expected to continue developing their skills and gain more knowledge throughout their careers; the RCN (2010) defines this as lifelong learning. Two of the most fundamental contributing areas of learning are clinical placement and theory. Being able to link the two together is an essential skill; this is emphasized by Cope et al (2000). The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council defines the enrolled nurse (EN) as, an associate to the registered nurse who demonstrates competence in the provision of patient-centred care as specified by the registering authority’s license to practice, educational preparation and context of care (Monash, 2013). As the enrolled nursing is on an on-going learning career, critical thinking, reflection and analysis are vital criteria that a nurse should concern during her duties and studies. Mainly these three points are significant to deliver a quality patient-centred care. Because some nurses that have been learnt these criteria are not applying in their clinical practice. Critical thinking helps ENs to make judgments related to client’s human…

The relationship between CAM providers and the medical profession is one where CAM providers are not usually accepted by the medical profession. Trends in the early 1970’s toward holistic health promoted balancing the immune system and ideologies such as health being personal responsibility. We all tried, but I think some of us took the project more seriously than others. Kevin was always late to our meetings event though when we created the team contract we agreed to be punctual unless there was an emergency. I doubt that there was an emergency every single week when we met. I think Amy and myself did most of the work, we had to assign work for Kevin and Shaohui to do otherwise they would not take the initiative to do something unless we asked them to do it which was frustrating because Kevin was supposed to be the project manager and it was his responsibility to make sure that we were doing our part and being the leader of the team. I am not saying that it was all his responsibility because we are all adults and can do our part, but what I am saying is that they were not behaving as adults.…
