A present chronic stressor that I currently have is working for the Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. I have been working for over seven years now constantly doing the same thing over and over. Inmates repeatedly ask the same questions, and the same issues arise every day. Policies have changed, and more strict rules are enforced, and severe consequences are given to officers not doing their job. I work at an outside facility and which is very exhausting during the summer months when temperatures range from 100-120 degrees. This is a contribution to job strain of all the extensive work, especially since I’m exposed to the sun all day.
