K. Tamizharasi and Dr. Uma Rani (2014)1, in their article titled “Work stress and job performance evaluation of BPO employees” have analyzed the stress factors in BPO sector. Data were collected through a questionnaire addressing on the issues, such as salary, Job task, work environment, colleagues, late night shift and workload. The findings revealed that a majority of 195 employees agreed that late night shift is the main source of their stress. It also identified that women get more stressed out than men. The study concluded that increased stress problem will result in pressure, strain, anxiety, tension, trauma to the employees and ultimately the productivity of the employee’s decreases.

It also reveals that excessive workloads, unreachable targets and pressurizing customers are creating stress among the employees. This ultimately results in physical, psychological and behavioural deviations which affects the employee’s personal and professional life along with the organizational growth. Yusoffand Faisal Khan24in their research paper titled “Stress and Burnout in the higher Education sector in Pakistan: A Systematic Review of Literature” have explored stress and burnout in higher education sector of Pakistan. The systematic review of literature consists of 26 papers from 1991 to 2012. The researcher has studied 47 Journal articles of last thirty years, along with Books, Reports, Thesis and Governmental documents. The study reveals that stressors includes homework interface, administration role, relationship with others, role ambiguity, performance pressure and workload. It also pointed out the relationship between different stressors and their outcomes like turnover and decreased organizational commitment. The study envisages for future researchers to analyze the decreasing trend in teacher performance and their vulnerability to job stress.
