Every business is required by law to have some form of security policy in place that will protect their customer’s information. How robust these policies are, may, and do, differ from company to company and can depend on many different factors unique to each individual business. Information security is very important and at my widget company it would be my responsibility and ethical duty to do everything in my power to find out how my system was breached and exactly what customers information was compromised as well as who is responsible for taking this information. I would also be ethically responsible for finding out which employees have not been adhering to the company's security policy and accessing customer information when it was not part of their duties, and under what circumstances this happened. Where these employees instructed to do this or did the do it of their own accord and if so reprimand these individuals up to and including termination of their employment with my company.…

Unfortunately, there has been plenty poor decisions made on the managements part that has seriously affected staff members and the quality of work that has been put out. In my observation, I’ve noticed that staff members are being handed projects and assignments from managers, but not being held accountable for them. This kind of thing has resulted in employees having a variety of different projects and assignments simultaneously. Nick, is one employee that is scared to death because he was going to be evaluated and he knows that his quality of work was not up to par, but he still was…

This poses an issue and directly conflicts with the customer centric core value that we should be practicing, especially as a shared services company. The lack of regular communication with the customer is a hindrance on the quality of product that IT delivers, and needs to change. There have been several instances in the past where miscommunication throughout the SDLC process led to issues in the production environment of our systems, which is not something to be taken lightly in the insurance industry. These issues could, and have, led to our company being severely fined for being out of compliance if we accidentally implemented a form for a product that is not approved by a certain state (to name one example). One of the main reasons why…

Medical practices have the option for staying in-house or the option of outsourcing to a professional billing service when it comes to Third Party Collections systems. Advantages and disadvantages will be discussed for proper understanding on what decision to make, especially for brand new medical practices. Especially, because a medical practice’s cash flow depends on their billing department, the more statements they can get out to patients and claims to insurance companies, the sooner they’ll be bringing money into the practice (MBAA, 2016).…

In fact when it goes wrong, he tells us, it dilutes the effect of every other people investment. Yet, when done right the impact is significant (Bailey, 2012). If the investment in people is a top priority for organizations, why then, is the reality as Aquinis (2013) points out, “Performance management systems are seldom implemented in an ideal way” (p. 18)?…
