Education studies is purely based on gaining an in depth knowledge on how the education system works. I am particularly interested in finding out how the education system works and what needs to be done in helping young people reach their full potential. I’ve always had an interest in education as its part of our everyday lives whether we are young or old; we are always learning new things. Having an impact in young people’s lives is what drives me to study this subject. After all, school is only a small part of our lives but at the same time it is what shapes our future.
For work experience I worked in a after school club for kids in my local sports centre where I was required to pick them up from school with other members of staff and bring them back to the centre. I took part in imaginative play, creative arts and crafts, cooking and karaoke. I developed communication skills and organisation skills as I was required to follow instructions and act upon it. In health and social care I was particularly interested in the health and safety unit as it helped me understand how to keep safe and what actions need to be taken in cases of danger. Applied science is such a demanding subject which requires a lot of course work to be done in a short space of time. I was able to be ahead of schedule and give my assignments before deadline and I believe this is a quality needed to study successfully in university. Cope level 3 requires a lot of independent work and also working with others. The unit I enjoy the most is research and it requires a lot of in depth research with a topic of your choice. This will prepare me for university as a lot of independent work is required. While at sixth form I took part in martial arts.
