However, we recognize that while work as an unavoidable task, which we need to perform, in order to cover our needs and fees for recreational activities, we also recognize that without leisure our lives will be a horrific nightmare. Therefore, we see leisure and recreation as a psychological and physical, and social need. We perceived them as the best channel to reduce our levels of stress, and we know that achieve a quality life are essential factor for our success, not only as individuals, but as partners, parents, and professionals.
3. What do you see as your ideal relationship or proportion of work and leisure? My ideal proportion of work and leisure should be around 60 % work and 40% leisure. We should not live just to work and rest to be ready for the next working day. I based my estimation on my personal experience4 and in the contents of Dimensions of Leisure for Life, chapter 1. Fortunately, I have two months of vacation during the summer. However, there is not salary for two months.

Covering the costs of our hobbies generally comes from performing a job. On the other side, by having opportunities of doing activities that we perform for our own enjoyment, allow us to reduce the rocketing levels of stress, which come from performing our jobs. Of course, there are leisure activities that cost nothing and are as valuable as their counterparts. But most of leisure comes with an economic price (microeconomics and macroeconomics, Henderson, page 35). Therefore, both are genuinely complementary.
