In fact, I'm worried about handing out for lunch. Because my spoken English is not good, chat with a stranger I will be a little bit nervous at ordinary times, now I need to go to service a lot of people, like a waiter, is a challenge for me. , of course, I'm not going to shrink back or escape the opportunity to communicate with people, because it is a good opportunity to exercise, let me experience and feelings of Detroit's community service work. Almost every student is very happy to come to this project, they think it makes sense, the main aspects: one is to learn more about the needs of the vulnerable groups in society, the second is to let a person more compassionate, more can understand the difficulties of others, more compassion to others, 3 it is through this project can real help to those who need help. Four is can exercise personal communication skills, creativity and practical ability, and so on. Many institutions and employees are actively involved in such activities. In fact, I know many people are willing to do such a volunteer, they are willing to pay time and energy to help others, especially in the church, they think that they do in the process of helping people understand the joy and happiness. On the other hand, I also understand some people will refuse to help. Some homeless people, for example, hobo. They'd rather looking for food in a trash can to rescue station to collect clothes and food. Maybe they think this will lose dignity or freedom, or they are stubborn, refused to accept the help of others, and so on. I think, in this regard, each person has their own choice. If they are not willing to accept help, and I think we should not force them, because that would cause them trouble. The same, so also can cause unnecessary conflict, and may even cause

Some simply do not want to be helped. This could be a result of a mental issue, or a battle of pride, where they are unable to admit they need help. At times, some mental dilemmas have proceeded to the point of no return, and these patients are paranoid of drugs that could help them. Another major issue concerning the homeless exists as there is no place for them to go if the shelters are full, and the nefarious influences on the streets, where one can find drugs instantaneously. Contributing to the matter lingers the maintained thought of homeless people as the scum of the earth, and not the human beings they really are.…

We spoke with someone who works at the House and she told us that eight families were there on that day. We were able to see some people and did what we could to help out.…

It is home to perseverant street vendors and taxi drivers, everyday Spanish-slang-speaking pedestrians, Fito, our humorous, laid-back in-country representative, talented, amateur artists, and the impoverished shadows of Peru. Every Experiment group is expected to perform some kind of community service. I, excitedly expected to work with children at a local shelter- ready to play with jubilance, but instead was in utter confusion when we arrived on foot to a local soup kitchen for the elderly. Volunteering at Veterans Affairs Medical Center was one of the greatest experience I've ever had. Sitting down with the elderly and getting to know them, I noticed if more teens could actually sit down and take the time to talk to an elderly person they could gain an opulent amount of knowledge. Sitting down and getting to talk an innumerable amount of veterans as I could, I was intrigued by how each person had a story of their own going through WWII. Voluntarily, I was able to contribute to the organization by having open conversations with the veterans, providing beverages, and having a great time. It wasn't till the end of the program when my perception began to change about the organization I volunteered for, it's more than just about kids…

When an employer or college is looking at an applicant’s resume, volunteering experience is a beneficial item to add, especially if it is a related field. Some people are just love to help out the community by volunteering. Many different volunteer programs are appealing to different people, like helping take care of puppies at the animal shelter for animal lovers, caring for a child at a children’s hospital if they are affectionate towards children, or serving a meal at a food kitchen for a chef or someone who is inspired to help the needy. I am called to a different group to volunteer with: the elderly. Each organization helps the elderly in different ways, but my favorite cause is that of Meals on Wheels.…
