Title Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. under the lights with the stands packed with students, parents and fans with everyone watching is just the product of all the hard work football players put in. Football is a grind, many people don’t see the process they just see the product of all the hard work they put in. Football teaches you to live for every friday night because it goes by so fast if you take it for granted. It teaches you discipline, integrity. Competitiveness, work ethic, and at the end of the day it teaches you how to love and be passionate about something to the point where if you had the chance you would be able to do it all over again. If you work hard for something then you have a better chance of achieving what you are working for. Waking up early in the morning to go to weights plays a big part in learning work ethic whether you realize it or not. It teaches you that everything isn't just going to come easy to you like it always has. A reflection of your work ethic in football is shown on the field and how you perform. “Hard work beats talent when talent doesnt work hard.” Work ethic can also show in the classroom and you find out if your work ethic is paying off or not by looking at your grades. There is no way of getting around it in football. Everyone looks up to you as a football player and expects so much more out of you then you expect. Teachers, other student body, families, look up to you so much and watch every step that you take. You can with a use that as a tool and motive to set a good example and be confident in what you do or you can use it in a way to boost yourself and your self-esteem rather the others which would be considered cocky. There are too many arrogant athletes and football players who are more worried about themselves rather than the well being for others. They use the spotlight in all the wrong ways. But you also cannot look past the football players and athletes who take the spotlight and fame that they have to contribute to the needs of other people.
