Work Ethic Personal Statement

Decent Essays
I am a strong student who has an excellent work ethic and is extremely dedicated to their studies. I am entirely confident in my academic ability to succeed at an above average standard. I would contribute to the science community by furthering the presence of highly educated women so we are no longer the minority. My drive and determination to be successful would be a great asset to the Women in Science because I’d be able to help fellow women with their studies whether that be with tutoring or simply being a study partner. My ambition and curiosity constantly has me furthering my education. I have recently applied for a research internship, which would be a great opportunity to collaborate with professors and doctors within the field of science.

Clarence, I agree with you completely that older generations follow the motto “a hard day’s work for an honest day’s pay”. I work with a few older employees and they work 5x harder than some of the younger employees I work with. I also received a 35 on my EI test which I was not surprised of either. I have a very high work ethic and have very little time for play in my job. I do need to learn to put myself in others shoes; sometimes this is very hard for me to do.…

Personal Statement I consider myself to have been an active and hard working student during my previous educational stages. My interest in chemistry dates back to secondary school, I've been interested in chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, I wanted to pursue a degree that combines all or most of these, so I chose the Mathematical Sciences department and obtained my High School degree with an overall grade of 99.87 %. For years I fell under the falsified vision of wanting to become a doctor. I anticipated myself studying for the MCATs, attending medical school interviews, and fretting over my application until it was perfect in every way shape and form. Why a doctor? The answer was simple, I longed to be the person who could make a difference in not only an ailing individual, but to the world of medicine. I hoped to aid in finding cures to the worlds most complex of diseases and genetic mutations.…

Over the course of the last several months I have been in contact with Dr. Emilie Snell-Rood from the Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior (EEB) program. I am applying to the PhD program at the University of Minnesota because of the opportunity it offers understanding the impacts of human-induced changes on ecology. My goal of pursuing a graduate degree is something that I have been focused on throughout my undergraduate experience at Boise State University (BSU). A path to achieving this goal is reflected in my approach to education, including my dedication to the undergraduate courses I’ve enrolled in, and my participation in research with a number of faculty members in the department. Ultimately I would like to see my doctoral degree (and subsequent postdoctoral experience[s]) position me for a career in academia as a faculty member at a university that values both research and teaching.…
