There are many different beliefs towards what brings us to success. In The Sports Gene by David Epstein, it is explained that innate and physical talents are what allow people to succeed. In Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell explains that effort and practice is what brings us to the top. Epstein and Gladwell both put forth arguments about how much in our lives we control, however, based on evidence Gladwell definitely shows that effort and practice is what we control to make us our best, and he better answers the question, how much of what happens in our lives do we control.…

Throughout my high school career, there were many times I collaborated with other students to execute a project. When working on these activities, there were individuals who had different approaches to how things should be done. Work ethic is something that is molded during the early years in education, but now, in high school, a person’s principle on how work should be done are easily shown in how they interact in a group setting. Productivity is directly related to the work ethic of a person, and this is shown through the impulsive revolving doors, the apathetic automatic doors, and the meticulous screen doors.…

In our world today, there are many opportunities given to win without really deserving it. One may ask, “How does this hinder us as a people?” Winning without deserving it hinders people because of the following three reasons: it allows failure to be okay, makes them feel as though they are special, and lowers competitiveness.…

THIS is evolution!?!?! So, as you can see for yourself, we live on a marooned penal asylum space colony, run by its worst sociopath offenders - hell on earth really. Given free reign by us meek masses, these out-of-control crazies, systematically spouting the virtues of their god, their patriotism and cultural and economic supremacy, or some other their, put enough resources into engaging in constant high-tech conflicts among themselves and the populaces they control, to feed the entire planetary colony many times over and eradicate most of its diseases. So as it stands, all us inmates, no matter the status, live in scarcity (or the illusion of scarcity), in aggression and fear ... just like our primate cousins ... only worse.…
