Sherry Bailey, a Project Manager of four different projects took time out of her busy schedule for an interview with students at Cary High School about her current job, background, job success, stakeholders and challenges.. This interview allowed the students to look into the office of a Project Manager and how one accomplishes them while keeping all parties and team members happy.

Sherry Bailey works at North Carolina State University and is funded through four different initiatives; The Department of Energy, Nuclear, Engineering, and The Dean’s Office. Sherry’s work hours vary with each project, depending on the different demands and workloads the specific project might have, and how far the project might already be. Her hours on average

It is very crucial to have the people you are associated implicated and interested in what you are saying. Ms. Bailey added, “I did not intend on being in the project management field that she actually started as a high school history teacher”, which indeed did require some project management skills. However later on in her career she ended up falling into working at North Carolina State University as she does now.

In addition to great organization, a project manager has to have a certain set of qualities. Most of these qualities come with the practice and being in the field working on projects. Any outstanding project manager should be “analytical, conceptual, visionary, love their work, strong team building skills, ability to lead and motivate the team, good communication skills and structure and alignment”

we asked her a couple questions including stakeholder questions. She answered very detailed responses and she had very good answers. When asked “when you have two key stakeholders with conflicting views, how do you deal with them?” she responded by saying that she usually listens to everybody 's opinion and she like combines the information she retrieves from everybody and makes her decision. She said she also “makes sure she tries to get what people want”, but she always finds a way. The next question i asked her was “who is the main stakeholder, with unlimited responsibility for driving the project forward?”, she said that she is the main stakeholder so she has to make sure everything is going the right way and when people get off task, she is the one to put them straight and keep the project going good and up to date. The final and last question asked was “How do you deal with sponsors when they don 't like the project or want to make changes to the existing project, that might harm the project in the long run?”. She said she usually knows when something is going to harm the project because of all her experience in her career. also she says that she don 't like to waste time on irrelevant to make the project at risk so she basically stays away from the negative that can harm the project.
