From the look on the strangers face, I do not believe he had ever been confronted before. Since people do not speak up about small moments of sexism in casual conversation, this is one reason why sexism still exists. If people do not tell other people why what they said was insensitive, that person is just going to continue saying things like that because they perhaps are not aware of what it is implying. I found that though gender bias in predominately male fields of work still exists, the attitudes are much more subtle and non-confrontational. There was only one instance of me not being able to do something because I was women compared to before when there would be many such as women not even allowed to work outside of the home. The reactions I received from others were slightly different from the ones I was expecting to receive which shows me how far society has come but also that there needs to be some more work to be done and since I experienced these things first hand I know what parts needs to be emphasized more than others. It also has made me realize my privilege because there are people who have to endure much more discrimination on an everyday basic compared to me because I was simply trying it out for a day and there are people who have to deal with it
