Wordy In Hamlet

In my opinion, the story of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet has been entertaining. However, the latter parts of the story became slightly confusing. Moreover, the overall work was very wordy. There is too much dialect among the characters. I believe that the same point could have been conveyed without as many words. Works that are too wordy sometimes lose my attention at different points. On the other hand, I did not expect the ending. At first, I thought that only Polonius was going to die. His death alone was a tragic mistake. Nevertheless, as the story progressed, more people began to die. Ophelia’s death seemed to be an accident and a suicide. In detail, when she fell into the water because of the broken branch, she did not try to stop sinking or ask for help. If there were any possibility that she wanted to continue living, she would have fought for her life or …show more content…
Characters were dying left and right. Queen Gertrude drank poison and her heart gave out shortly afterwards. Hamlet discovered that the poison was meant for him and killed King Claudius. Meanwhile, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were killed in England because Hamlet altered the letter that they were carrying. Originally, King Claudius wrote instructions for the king of England to kill Hamlet. However, Hamlet discovered the letter and changed the names to theirs. Furthermore, Laertes and Hamlet battled each other with swords. Both men were stabbed with a sword that had poison on the end. Therefore, they both were overcome by the poison and died. Horatio was the only witness left alive to tell the story of their tragic deaths. After reading the entire story, I can say that William Shakespeare’s Hamlet is truly a tragedy. Nearly the whole family dynasty was eliminated. In that cause, Fortinbras took over the throne. I believe that King Claudius received what he deserved. However, I do not like that Hamlet died as well. I liked his character very

Considering that this tragedy play ends in violence, at the cost of the young, ambitious and indecisive Hamlet, it’s safe to say that Shakespeare’s prediction wasn’t optimistic. Consequently the turmoil that would follow James and his successors would indicate that Shakespeare’s prediction did have its merits (De Lisle, 408). To conclude, the plot of Hamlet is enriched in reflections on the changes of religion, class, education the rise of humanism and the politics surrounding Queen Elizabeth and her successor. From the inconsistences and conflict of these themes that are presented, it can be argued that Shakespeare has deliberately made the nature of the play ambiguous.…

The death of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern becomes inevitable when Hamlet realizes that they are working for Claudius. Hamlet expresses his opinion of the two when he declares, “Ay, Sir, that soaks up the King’s countenance, his rewards, his authorities. But such officers do the King best service in the end. He keeps them like [an ape] an apple in the corner of his jaw, first mouthed, to be last swallowed. “The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” is believed to have been written between the year 1599 and 1601, and although the play actually takes place in the Middle Ages occasionally reference to the Elizabethan era are made. Hamlet becomes a sort of a madman trying to prove his uncles guilt before actually taking his revenge.…

It is common across many Shakespearean tragedies for at least one character to die; in Hamlet, five characters are murdered. These five (King Hamlet, Hamlet Jr., Laertes, Gertrude, and Claudius) all die as a result of being poisoned by Claudius, directly or transitively. The repeated use of poison across Shakespeare's plays is not a coincidence, and when Shakespeare uses poison in Hamlet, he sets up a strong association of poison to the corruption in man. More specifically, Shakespeare uses the poison as a symbol for the corruption of man, by associating it with murder, the need for retribution, and government.…

Each person that has studied Hamlet has come up with a unique opinion and conclusion of the play. Although Graham Bradshaw and William Empson both have different views on the way Hamlet was written and the famous “Hamlet Problem”, William Empson has a more valid argument on the new play.…
