Weatherford, Texas is located in Parker County which is 30 miles west of the Fort Worth, Texas. We are known for our small town family and community way of life, yet minutes for Fort Worth. Weatherford maintains its rich western heritage in a safe environment where families are the focal point. The population is a little over 26,000, yet quickly growing. The cultural makeup of the city is predominately white with 85% of the population and 10% Hispanic. The average income per household is around $51,000 and the average age is 36. Weatherford Independent School District services around 8,000 students pre-kindergarten through high school with a total of 11 campuses. There are seven elementary campuses, two middle schools, one ninth grade center and one high school campus. We are the home of the kangaroos!

Who are the major employers in your district?

Our major employer in our district is Jerry’s Transportation Center with 420 employees. This establishment is a great support not only to the school district, but also the community. Our fine arts center at the high school is named after Jerry Durant, the owner of Jerry’s Transportation Center. The next major employer in our district is a wholesale grocery and rubber silicone factory with over 250 employees for each company. These companies are a large supporter of the students in Weatherford Independent School
