Words of the Wiser can show plot because it moves the story forward, whether it’s rising action, climax, or falling action. “Then she shrugged. ‘Why live if you can’t help others and make the world a better place?’” (Mikaelsen 106-107). This is moving the story forward because it’s giving Cole an idea for helping others later on in the story and it also teaches Cole why he needs to help others, which impacts the story.
