I was behind the rest of all the band members, maybe on the second floor when I heard the noise of the of the missiles fly out of the big guns right a I reach the third floor i hear an explosion an fuming flames coming my way. The heat started to burn the wooden deck above I started to scramble to get to open air. My eyes were burning from smoke. I was less than 5 feet away from the star well when the deck above collapsed right in front of me. I was scrambling around when a Japanese dive bomber hit the side of the ship and made a gaping hole that a jeep could fit through.
