What Is Woodrow Wilson's Foreign Policy

Woodrow Wilson, president of the United States from 1913-1921, knew little about foreign policy when he first came into office. Wilson and his secretary of state, William Jennings Bryan, focused on aggressive moral diplomacy throughout his two terms as president. He rejected Taft’s idea of dollar diplomacy and focused on preserving peace, bringing right to the world, and extending the blessings of the democracy, but as time went on this policy was hard to stand by. Wilson felt as if it was his jobs to help less favored nations. Throughout the 1912 campaign Wilson only mentioned foreign policy when it directly affected domestic concerns. It is said that there are two big hurdles to pass to sway the votes of the Democrat and Republican parties; one being to get your name on the ballots in all fifty states and the second is getting to participate in debates. Johnson already has his name on the ballots and if he can increase his five national survey percentage he will be able to attend the debate. Johnson states that it is hypocritical for the United States to attack and label China as being a currency manipulator. Johnson is Pro Free Trade and thinks that it should be no tariffs, no restrictions, and not corporatism. Johnson sees the immigration issue completely different than most. In my opinion, he is considering it in a more logical and economical way. Johnson is against using raids to enforce immigration laws. He states that it isn’t logical and that it’s going to produce more problems instead of solutions to the immigration problems that we are facing as a nation. When asked about employers checking immigration status before hiring potential employees he agreed. In his interview he states that there needs to be an e-verify system that is quick, simple, and efficient in providing the material needed. Employers and workers have to comply eagerly with the system for it to work. Johnson states that he thinks the building of a wall between America and Mexico is a ridiculous idea. In his opinion, he believes that it will just lead to “taller ladders and deeper tunnels.” Johnson states that there should be a completely new immigration policy instead of simplistic solutions. Syrian Refugees should be allowed to come into this country according Johnson. He states that we should take our share of refugees. This candidate says that he would like to formulate a formula based on our coalition
