Wonder By R. J Palacio: A Comparative Analysis

In the book “ The Land of stories” by Chris Colfer, and the book “Wonder” by R.J palacio , both ‘’Chris from “Wonder” and Conner Bailey from “the Land of Stories” both have trouble with family and friends.’’ Conner has trouble with family because his dad died, Chris has trouble with family because his parents are divorced.

One way that Chris has trouble with family is that his parents are divorced. So because his mom and dad are no longer living together he lives with his mom most of the time. Due to his parents being divorced means that he doesn't really have a “man” to look up to. To add on to that, Chris has trouble with his family right after he has his rock band class with a few other boys, his dad comes to pick him up which is super rare. In the car he learns that his mom was in a car accident and that his mother is in the hospital with a broken leg, because his mom has a broken leg that means that he would be staying at his dad's. As you can see, Chris has trouble with his family because his parents are divorced and because, his mom has a broken leg which means that he has to get a ride from his dad which takes a little bit longer even though he’s late every day because he forgets things e very morning. …show more content…
Connor has lots of trouble throughout the story with his dad being gone and them having to move out of there house that they loved. Due to his father being gone his mom has to work double shifts at the children's hospital so Conner really never sees his mom and his twin sister Alex is working a special project in her room so he never really sees his mom and his sister. He doesn't have anyone to talk to about his dad's death to make him feel better.So as you can see its been hard for conner.So with his dad being gone and nobody to talk to, he cant talk to anyone about his
