Existentialism is a philosophical view that human beings are in a position to determine their destinies through choice. The philosophical theory puts the responsibility of determining the level of development in the hands of the person himself. Wonder Boys on the other hand is a film that was directed by Steve Kloves, basing his theme on a novel called Wonder Boys. In connection with existentialism, the movie director brought it out in different characters in the film, especially the male characters. It is important to note that the most prominent aspect of human character that the film focused on is the human morality. This statement sheds more light on the life and activities of the characters in the film. First, when readers are introduced to Glady, he was a professor at the university, a fact that raises him higher in society. However, his behavior and reputation at the university is completely the opposite of what moral standards in society dictates. He not only dates a married woman but also betrays his wives. In fact, their relationship went deep when Sara reveals to him at Gaskell’s party that she is pregnant. As it begins, the relationship between Sara and Glady seems impossible, especially when it became clear that Sara was married to Walter.
