The AWSA took the overall approach of being slow and steady. This worked but it took a very long time to get even a single state to approve. They used techniques such as using national holidays to try and spread the word. Another strategy that was commonly used was speeches and pamphlets. This was good because speeches targeted a large crowd all at once. Pamphlets were useful because it gave the chance to share ideas and explain a little better along with answering more personalized questions. AWSA also fired people who hurt their good reputation or who brought different, big, and new ideas that were not what they wanted to hear.
