Women rights is something that has been around forever and still be around years ahead of us if we don't stop this. Women sports is new compared to men's sports. Women's sports are basically there for them to have fun and play but there are barely watched. Many people wonder why. It is because that they are never on television for people to watch. Have you ever seen a women's hockey game on TV or a women's lacrosse game. Most people will answer no to those questions as there are barely covered on TV. This is why female sports should have equal coverage as male sports. Most sports companies that broadcast sports like NBC sports or espn are afraid of spending a lot of money to broadcast a women's sports game and no one watch it. Female athletes make less money since there games are usually not broadcasted. Female basketball is a great example of that. The WNBA(Women's National Basketball Association) salary average is about $72,000 and the NBA’s average salary is about 4.9 million. This is all because how many people watch it and how many peoples goes to the games and buys tickets. It is kinda like with prize money for the winner. In the 2014 world cup the champions got 35 million for winning and for the women's world cup in 2015, the champions USA was given 2 million dollars 33 million less than what the men got. People might say it's because men are running the show that is why it's let but that's not true. It is because of how many people watch it and the revenue it makes. The more people who watch it and the more channels that air it the more money they will make.
The teams have a big affect on it with there owners. Some teams do not get out with the public that well. Most teams have social media to get out with the public so they know who the team is but most women's team dont. They are very quiet with the public and they don't want to get out there with the public so they don't do that many charity things or do events so they aren't known like many of the nba teams are

Men’s teams are said to be more popular, as for why they can afford to be paid more. The goalkeeper of the team, Hope Solo, said, “The men get paid more just to show up than we get paid to win a major championship.” Unfortunately for them, this is true. According to U.S. Soccer’s own financial reports, women got twenty million more in revenue than the men in 2015, but men were paid four times as much. Yet still, many people criticized these women for speaking up against this sexism.…

ARGUMENT 1: The male/female coverage of sports is not evenly distributed in the media. • Professional sports are a part of the entertainment industry, and thus, the spectators and supporters of the athletes mainly determine the quantity of pay. Men’s sports attract more spectators and attention, and are therefore able to sell more tickets to live events, thus generating more money. • More money is invested into commercials pertaining to male athletes. For instance, most TV commercials use the most popular male athletes.…

Should women be allowed to play on male sports teams? I think that women shouldn't be allowed to because of safety requirements, and sexaul harassment which would both be a big issue. First of all, male sports are aggressive and safety would be hard to avoid. They would have a high risk of injury, concussion rates in the last year have rose over 20%.There are many different kinds of injuries you can suffer while playing a male sport like you can overheat and pass out, you can tear your ACL or MCL or you could even overuse your body and strain it. Injuries are very hard to avoid and a male's body is built to take a lot more than a girls so our injury rates would increase if the females joined our team because the males are 30% stronger than females which means we have more muscle to protect us from injury.…

There has always been the illusion that men are better athletes than women. This idea is falsely portrayed. Female athletes work just as hard as male athletes, if not harder. The sport all together is the same. Everyone plays by the same rules and restrictions, but there’s just too much of a difference between the genders in sports. Men and women have different playing styles and they do not mix well. They have been separated for a very long time and they should remain that way for many of the reasons that I have listed above. There will always be women that can beat men in their respected sports and vise versa, but the game is setup the way it should remain for women to play competitive against women and men to play against other…

If people were not brought up to watch the numerous amounts of male sports televised on television, then the inequality towards women would not be a subject to address. We have to blame ourselves for not showing interest in women’s sports (Flanagan 2). Women should be paid the same for their talent and hard work. Men are often known to be providers of their families. But today, women have moved into this role and are competing with men.…

Females should undoubtedly be allowed to play on male sports’ teams. In this world of inequality there are few things we can do to alleviate that. For example, allowing females to play on male sports’ teams would be a great step. This has already been happening around the world, but it’s been causing controversy due to their, the girls, physicality and how fair it is then for the boys in return. While looking on Sports Illustrated I saw that there were more articles about women. The first being just a picture of Lexi Thompson, a professional golfer because of the incident when she miss marked her ball and it was called in by a viewer and reviewed. The second one surprised me a first because it was about the WNBA draft because I have never seen an article about it, but it was just portraits of the women. Lastly there were two Sports Illustrated swimsuit model articles. This showed exactly what society thinks of women’s sports, which is basically just that sex sells and this arena is for men and just for women to look good and stand aside.…

Gender Inequality in Professional US Soccer In the United States, the professional opportunities, which are available for women to play soccer, are small compared to men. Not only that, but after having more success in competitive play, they do not earn an equal or higher pay than men as well. Soccer has been primarily a male dominated sport with more opportunities and funds allotted for development, earnings, and venues. Even though the US Women’s Soccer team has great success and support from the soccer community, they continue to struggle with equality in regards to their earnings, recognition, and the type and degree of punishment they receive when breaking rules or guidelines.…

Is it because of views based on physical appearance where women always seem scrawny and feeble? Whatever the reason is, female athletes deserve the respect that male athletes receive. This is because I will break the stereotype that only men can excel in all sports in order for people to believe that women can excel in different categories of sports also. Women, the nurturer that takes care of household jobs and children, can perform well in athletic activities. Men, the strong and mighty head of the house, can be beat by women in sports.…
