According to Kadayifici and Becovitch peace building and mediation goes hand and hand with one another. Mediation is a conflict resolution tool that is most extensively utilized. Mediation is defined as “intermediary activity undertaken by a third party with the primary intention of achieving some compromise settlement of issues at stake between the parties or at least ending disruptive conflict behavior. Mediation can take place between states, within states, or between groups of states, organization or individuals.
