Men can wear condoms, which are very effective, but many men come up with excuses for why condoms do not work for them, as if a hormonal birth control method does not affect women in any way. In order to solve this gap in responsibility, women should take control of the sexual interaction by controlling when the man ejaculates, without tolerating the age-old “blue balls” that men complain about. Men can only ejaculate when both parties agree that they want to have a child. When a woman does become pregnant, though, she is stuck with the mental and physical repercussions for the rest of her life, despite whether or not she decides to have an abortion, give the baby up for adoption, or keep the baby. Men are not confined to the same responsibilities, though; they have a choice, but they should not have the option to run away from a pregnancy anymore. Birth control is dangerously overlooked, though, and often left to one partner to figure out, who is usually the woman. Men could just take the initiative and take responsibility for their actions, but why would they do that when there is someone else to do it? If all of the pressure of birth control was lifted off the woman’s shoulders and split between the male partner, unexpected pregnancies and abortion rates would significantly decrease. But of course, unexpected pregnancies still happen and when they do, it is not very often that the man stays. Although there are many less extreme solutions, such as not being an asshole or just having sex with someone you genuinely care about, that does not seem to be working so extremities are
