Women have been underrepresented in America and other parts of the world since the beginning of time. Women don’t have a noticeable place in the government, they have different standards set for them in the workforce, and women are always being stereotyped against in social media.Women are the ones who without them most men would not be alive. They are the backbone of our of our world, and yet more often than not they are still being belittled.
Women have an unfair advantage in the running of our own country. For example, the Senate has only twenty women out of its 100 members. Although the Senate has two members per state, the women of a state whether small or big should have a say as well. . The House of Representatives has out of its 435 members, only 84 are women. The House bases themselves of the population of a state,and while these numbers are much higher than they have in past decades, it still is not enough for equal representation. …show more content…
Women are still paid, “77 cents for every dollar a man makes” (Chu). In a nation where we are all equal, we are still not paid the same as a man no matter how hard we work at the same job. Studies have proven that men are more likely to get a job when compared to women that are either more or equally qualified. Along with that women are still viewed as incompetent to do their jobs because of biases that have plagued them throughout their career. According to the Harvard Business Review, women have to prove themselves again, having to try and find a perfect balance between being feminine and masculine in STEM related jobs, having people think that their careers are over because they had children, women either supporting them or distancing themselves to try and make them go what they’ve been through, and isolation. Women are still targeted whether intentionally or
