Today’s society seems to be based on looks rather than personality these days. Women everyday are being body shamed for not being “perfect” nor looking like everyone else should. Media takes a huge toll on how women portray their bodies causing them to take drastic measures to transform them to be the best, even if it is making them ill. More than we realize society shapes us in many ways, whether it be food, fashion, technology, or body image. Women are opting for plastic surgeries to get the ideal body completely transforming them into another person, also causing eating disorders, extreme dieting, and obsessive exercising. Society and social media today has made such an impact on plastic surgery to the point where it is no longer unusual or obscure. Women will pay up to thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and obtain the perfect body and will not stop until they reach their goal. Many women suffer from body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and will not stop trying to fix themselves due to the disorder they will never truly be happy with the way they look, other women who choose not to undergo intensive surgery instead they choose dieting and exercise, although it is a healthy and safer choice, it can be dangerous as well.
