Rogers 1 Few out of the every 10 women and men in the world are unable to have a child due to different factors and are seeking solutions such as treatment to do so or turn to adoption to be able to have a child. Infertility refers to an inability to conceive a child after having sexual intercourse without protection for a long period of time. Infertility in women can be that they simply cannot conceive a child or also because the woman cannot carry the child to full term. Infertility in men can be from a low sperm count or the sperm does not have a good quality (Mc Lachlan). There are more to just these things that I mentioned that can cause the woman and man to be infertile such as Genetics, STD’s and Abortion (Wittenberg). There are cure …show more content…
The fallopian tubes are which carry the eggs from the ovaries to the uterus (Nevin Todd). If they are damage it can cause the egg not to get in contact with the sperm. What can cause the fallopian tubes to get damage? It can get damage by having a pelvic infection or having pelvic surgeries that can lead to scaring and can cause the fallopian tube to be damage (Nevin Todd). Some someone suffer from hormonal issues. If you suffer from hormonal issues this means you have problems with your ovulation (Nevin Todd). If you do not ovulate this can also make you infertile. Men also can fall into the bracket of being infertile. Most infertility in men are caused by the quantity and quality of the man’s sperm. If the of sperm a man ejaculates is low and the quality is more if will be difficult for the sperm to reach the woman’s fertilized egg (Mc Lachlan). So the woman can be fertile but this can cause her not to get pregnant. To detect if a man’s infertile the woman and man would have to be tested to really detect if the man is infertile.
