According to research from Laura Flanders, “men make more money than women doing the same job, even though, in 2015 women held 70% of jobs” (Flanders np); however, one could argue that in recent years female labor force participation is not as high as male labor participation and that is why women do not make as much as men (Associated Press NP). Yet, during WWI and WWII, women were the ones that were in the factories making guns and bombs, they were also tending to the farms (Macdonald 16). Women deserve equal pay just as much as men do; employment should not be based on gender but rather on talent and skill.
Some assert that women do not deserve to be paid as much as men do because women do not work as hard and cannot do certain jobs that men excel at. Why have a woman do the job adequately when a man will excel at it? This statement is false because women work just as hard as anyone else.
