Since most people can remember not just Iranian women but women in the Middle East have had a difficult life. A lot of these women do not have their basic human rights. Sure things have gotten a little better over time but they are still way far behind and it’s not right. And sure there is still a problem with women’s rights and the sexism all over the world, even here in the United States. Not honor, obey. I know, crazy right? Here are some other laws and restrictions for women in Iran. A married woman can’t leave the country without her Husband’s permission. That’s nuts to me. So I’m guessing after the Iranian Revolution for the women that wanted to leave they had to get their husband’s permission first. They don’t even have say on what they can do in their own home.
Another is in court a woman’s testimony is worth half of what a man’s would be. So do you need two women to testify to equal up to one man testifying. Why even have them testify? It reminds me of how it was in the United States with slavery.
Here’s probably the most well-known one. All women must wear lose clothing and a veil out in public. The reason they have to do this is because Iranian men I guess can’t control themselves around an uncovered woman. What kind of garbage is that? You have to dress a certain way just so you don’t distract a man. I’ve seen on the news before that woman were being raped in Iran and get this it was their fault they were raped.
