Over the centuries people are helplessly watching women suffering in the form of harassment, discrimination and degradation. In order to get an equal status as men, women have struggled to overcome and is still struggling to overcome the cultural discrimination in India. In ancient days women in India treated as personal properties and used to fulfil men’s physical desires. Because of that, women always stay at home in the old days (Shah, D. (2011)). At last when they dare to come out of the houses to try to make their mark on the society which is dominated by men, they are being assaulted everywhere they go. There were no strict laws for women assault cases. Criminals who assault women often get unpunished. But after this brutally horrific incident a new law passed by the Indian Government for women assault. In Delhi, which is the capital of India, where a 23-year-old women got raped and murdered. There were so many rallies and movements occurred across India for this particular rape incident which happened in Delhi. Coming to the details of the rape incident. They gave her name as Nirbhaya. She was a medical student and had a dream to become a doctor to serve poor people. And she was from a remote area where her father worked as a baggage loader in Delhi airport and also worked as a night watchman in a private hospital to make her daughter study. He used to work hard for her education. One day she was going home after watching a movie with her friend. They boarded a bus which is a private bus and there were no passengers on it except 6 friends who were drunk. After a while the people who were drunk started passing comments on her. There was a hot conversation between her friend and the 6 people who were drunk. They beat him up and pulled him away. And they dragged the girl and raped her one by one. The rape was brutal because they inserted a metal rod inside her inner part, forcefully pulled it out. Because of that she was unconscious and started bleeding. Her abdomen and her inner parts are beaten so hardly. They threw her on the road naked. For the next 30 minutes her friend kept begging for help from the people who pass by, but nobody helped her. A brave passerby called an ambulance. Later they took her to the hospital. But after 10days she deceased in Singapore hospital because of severe injuries. This incident raged against the insecurity of the women in India. People did protests and rallies for justice against the perpetrators. After the large protests, police received 42 complaints
