Women are stoned because they are thought to have committed adultery or prostitution. Even if a man was in the wrong, the woman would automatically be punished because they are "property." Furthermore, reporter Naureen Shameem said, "A married woman was stoned to death by her family (including her two young children) for owning a cell phone." A man can become unhappy with his wife, accuse her of adultery, go to trial, and the judge will decide if she will be stoned. CNN states that judges make their decisions on gut feelings rather than actual evidence and sixty-eight percent of women are stoned to death from something that never happened.
