Women should not be on the front lines Women make up fifteen percent of of our united states armed forces but does not give them the right to serve on our front lines. There are three main reasons women should not serve those are physical and emotional capabilities and privacy issue. If the army gave on standard than most women would not do what the men would. “...Because most women would not even qualify to be in the military if they did not have separate standards...”( eden 1) This helps prove my point that if the united states military gave all soldiers the same standard that most women cannot do those requirements that male soldiers have to do. thats why women should not be allowed to go into combat. women should not be allowed to serve …show more content…
women can suffer more severe post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Women who serve also run the risk of getting sexually assaulted while in the same living quarters as males can have ptsd worse. “ For one, psychologists have found that women who experienced sexual harassment or trauma before or during their military service are more likely to suffer post-traumatic stress disorder than those who were not sexually traumatized.”( Munsey 3 ) This is saying that women who get sexually assaulted can suffer PTSD more than if they were deployed but still have the risk of PTSD while deployed. Women having emotional problems can be hard to solve. “When we see effects on role and emotional functioning, it 's problematic because then you start to lose social support, and those supports are where people find self-esteem and confidence in life," Pierce says…” ( Munsey 12 ). Women can set men up and cause a fight before the battle field fighting begins. “ A vindictive woman wants to destroy a man’s career with a false accusation (yes, folks, this happens too); and it’s poison to the unit. All this happens before the fighting even begins.”this proves if a woman 's mind starts going off and she becomes crazy that the unit and many others have to stop and get this problem solved. Men could have real hard times watching a women die especially if they value women. “ Veterans …show more content…
while men run and protect themselves with a ton of weight on women are not able to do the same. The second reason that a women is unfit for the front lines is that women should not be allowed in combat because they can have some really bad emotions while deployed and post deployed. women can suffer more severe post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Women who serve also run the risk of getting sexually assaulted while in the same living quarters as males can have ptsd worse. the final reason that women should not serve is privacy because women should not be allowed to serve on our front lines because they require their own privacy when you cannot accommodate that in war zone. if a women has you use the facilities while in a combat zone like the males do a woman may have to go in front of a male and have no privacy. the final reason that women should be allowed to derve that is minor but still sets a unit back is being pregnant while overseas or before you go on the front lines That is why women can join the armed forces but should not go

Serrano’s article, “Why Women Do Not Belong in the U.S. Infantry”, provides arguments supporting her main points. The main points Serrano includes; why the U.S. is not in need for women on the frontlines, the infantry brotherhood, and sexual assault cases. Serrano served as a Marine Officer and contributes her personal experiences from her service. Although Serrano agrees women are capable to serve in the military, she stresses the infantry is not the main job females should focus on.…

In Molly M. Ginty’s article “All Guts, No Glory”, she explores the issue of women serving in combat and the unfair reality that females have faced in the U.S. armed forces. In my opinion I strongly believe that women should be allowed to participate in combat. Many reasons why are if she signed up for this and has all the right training for it she should be allowed to go into war and fight for our country the same way men do. Women put their life at risk the same way males do getting shipped out to different countries protecting our country. In the article it says “one of the most dangerous jobs in the military today is driving a truck – a position that many women hold.”…

The women who argue to be able to serve in combat are not acknowledging the danger it puts themselves and the United States Military in. In the article,“Why Women Do Not Belong in the U.S Infantry.”, Serrano expresses that if they allowed women to serve in combat during her service in the military, anyone including herself would have jumped at the opportunity because of the novelty, excitement, and challenge; but, her views have changed with the experience and knowledge she has gained. Everyone needs to accept the fact that women are different, not only physically, but all around. It will only destroy the mission of the services (Para. 1). Also, allowing women to serve in infantry will cause enormous amounts of distractions.…

Women in combat. It has recently sparked a debate on whether women should be allowed in combat or not. In my opinion, women shouldn’t be allowed in combat because they are too emotional to handle the long periods of time of being on tour, they aren’t physically built like men, and there would be too many problems with having men and women living together. Women are way too emotional to withstand being in combat. They wouldn’t be able to handle the 100+ degree temperatures, the stress of being away from their families for long periods of time, and they wouldn’t be able to handle being shot at all the time.…

Jena McGregor a writer for the Washington Post wrote an article “Military Women in Combat: Why Making it Official Matters” argues that women should be allowed in combat and should be treated equally as men. If women have the right to vote then why shouldn’t they be able to do what men can do, especially when your giving your life in combat. When signing up for the military women know what they are getting themselves into including giving their life for…

However, in the past few years the Pentagon lifted a ban on women serving in combat; this opened up front line positions for all women in the armed services (Fromer par. 1). Now that women are allowed to have any military position, it is perfectly reasonable that they should be listed for the draft. In 2016 President Obama voiced his opinion that he believes women registering for the draft is the most logical step America can take, in that women are allowed to fight in any combat position now (“Obama signs”). Since American men have to bear such a responsibility, women should too now that the military field is equal. Women are now equal to men in the realm of the military, so there is no reason to exclude them from the selective services.…

“ Women are qualified for war. They would just have to work that much harder to be able to meet that goal. They would have to carry 100 pounds on their backs and would have to be able to go across the landscape with all this gair and are known to most likely not make it. Women are often great shooters but cant carry 50-80 pounds on them and is much harder on women to carry this amount of weight even with men carry more weight” (Westernjournalism) No girl can just go to war and expect to be able to do everything the boys can do.…

Women have, for years, been denied combat roles in the military and that is precisely the argument held by the Pentagon for giving women immunity from the Selective Service. They reason that because women have not had equal opportunity as men in the military, then they should not be asked to carry the burden that would come in the event of a draft. This was valid argument for the matter, that is, up until as recently as January 2016 when the Pentagon decided to open all combat roles to both men and women including Special Operations forces. As a result the military now concedes that women can perform in combat roles, so the rationale for why they shouldn’t be…

The belief is that they are the "weaker" sex because of physical capabilities and having a smaller frame. Being a male does not automatically make a man a good soldier. It is true that there are women who are unable to handle the physical toll associated with military training, but there are also men who are equally unskilled and physically inept to deal with the physical demands of military life. Men are doubtful at first, but the female soldier should be given the training and the experience just as every other man, in the military, to be able to prove their worth. They should be allowed opportunities to express different points of view, avenues of approach and showcase their abilities that may be valuable during combat.…

Women oppression has had such a big influence on women that at one point in history, they were not even allowed to help defend their country because they were seen as “weak.” They were only allowed to cater towards the men who were fighting. Eventually, women in America got tired of being treated as inferior human beings. Women’s roles in the military have changed immensely throughout history, and the transitions women have made has greatly impacted militaries everywhere. Before women were allowed to join the military as soldiers, they were cooks, laundresses, spies, and, most importantly, nurses.…

Should Women be allowed in Combat? Woman should be allowed in combat for many reasons. First of all allowing woman into combat situations would make our military more effective by putting talent into sections that were frowned upon before, it would help our forces become more modernized, putting women into combat situations would not break tradition because women have served in every war since the revolutionary war, and would put ability above gender. Allowing woman into combat situations would allow our combat units to be more effective in many different ways. Women who choose to become active combat soldiers, are unlikely to shirk their duty by becoming pregnant after a call-up as these women have willingly joined the service…
