Have you ever wondered what went on in World War II?
The home front was basically everything that went on as the men were in battle.
One big part was Rosie the Riveter because she was an iconic image for the role of work women did. Another big part of the home front war ration books. These ration books helped people get things they
needed by using stamps. Victory bonds were a big part too because they were brought to benefit the

Some people that served in the war had some kind
of famous background such as being a baseball player,but not all had this kind of background. The

Rosie the riveter was a big time image for the working roles of the women. Many posters were
created about Rosie the Riveter. The first Rosie was Rose Will Monroe. After the first Rosie,
Rosie was a term that was used to describe how the women worked in defense industries . Rosie the
riveter was amily based on women that were in a group,some were named rosie. Many people thought
that the posters of rosie helped us win the war in some way. Rosie was the symbol to show how hard
women really worked (“Rosie”). During the war many women gave up everything to work,women were looked at differently
because of this work. This showed that women were stronger than most think,very few women worked
at home. The idea of woman's service into the army was supported by many such as General George

Around 310,000 females worked in the
aircraft industry for america. Also about 350,000 females joined any type of work force (“Rosie the Riveter History”). Since Rosie the riveter was such a big thing many songs were written about her during this time.Songs about Rosie the riveter appeared in two different movies. The writers of the song were Redd Evans and John Jacob, thiis song was written in the year of 1942. The song told the real stories about the Rosies (“Rosie The Riveter”).
Ration books were a big part of World War II because it was how we got goods such as
gas. Since gas was rationed people were only allowed to get limited gas to get around. If you were
to use all of your stamps for gas they you could not get anymore for a whole month. So if you
were to run out of those stamps then you would probably have to walk around. Even if you were
lucky enough you could get a friend or other family member to drive somewhere. This is how the
process of gas rationing worked (“ration books”).
Another big part of rationing was food because if we didn’t then we would of probably ran out
