For example in “Puerto Rican Labor Movement”, before Eleanor Roosevelt visit to the needle factory 1934, the women were working in harsh conditions for low wages. Women joined the labor movement and were equal partners to men. Through their hard work and dedication, women were given more opportunities in the workforce. The women involvement in the labor movement and industry influenced the movement of Puerto Rican to improve the healthcare system for females such as providing “birth control and forced sterilization.” Anna Bijns and Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz were two very influential poets and nuns during their times. Sor Juana only became a nun to devote herself to reading and writing.
