Hatshepsut With a ruling period of over 3000 years, Egypt has seen roughly 170 pharaohs, yet there are few outside of egyptologists that can name more than two or three off the top of their head. Not many remember these kings of the east, and it is even more difficult to when their mark on their own history was erased by their successors. Hatshepsut was one of the few, and by far one of the most successful female pharaohs in ancient Egypt. She was the first of them to seize total control of the throne and declare herself pharaoh, and from 1479-1478 b.c. she ruled the most powerful lands of her time.…
In 1905, I was hired as a commission agent by Annie Turnbo Malone, a successful, black, hair care product entrepreneur, and that’s when I moved to Denver Colorado. While in Colorado my husband Charles helped, me create advertisements for my hair care remedies for African Americans that I had been working to perfect. Charles told me to go by a different name while I was promoting my products, he told me to go by the name “Madam C. J. Walker,” by which I was there for known as. In 1907, my husband and I travelled around the south and southeast promoting my products and giving lecture demonstrations of my “Walker Method” where I used my own formula pomade, and heated combs to activate the product. As the profits continued to grow, I started my own factory and and beauty school in Pittsburgh, and by 1910, I transferee my business to Indianapolis, the Madam C.J. Walker manufacturing company became wildly successful.…
Historians and archeologists have found evidence of human civilization in the Nile Valley dating as far back as 120,000 years ago. With a population of 90 million, it makes Egypt the third most populated country in all of Africa. Roughly, 20 percent of this population lives within 20 kilometers of the Nile River.…

The practice of religion and the worship of gods and goddesses had a significant role on everyday life in Ancient Egypt. For instance, the god Hapi is the god of the Nile River, flooding and the son of Horus (the son of Osiris and Isis.) Hapi has a baboon head and a mummified body. Ancient egypt was based on the Nile, like the seasons, and they were based off of when the Nile would flood. If the Nile flooded at a time when the Egyptians didn’t want it to, then they would blame it on Hapi.…

Life in Egypt Today, Egypt’s high environmental, temperature, and migration levels are still the same as it was back in 1967 and even later than that. However, there are many other things that make this country what it is today. "For example, the expanded irrigation of desert areas after the completion of the Aswan High dam in 1970s; which has increased soil salinity and aided the spread of waterborne diseases”(Malefic, Asante; 2002 “Culture and Customs of Egypt. Westport, Conn: Greenwood Press”). But, what about the evolutionary lines for both the governmental and religious cultural history of this country; do they play a big role in this country?…
