Woman play a huge role in our society today. Unfortunately women were looked down upon until very recently. Women have been very limited to what they can do, and they have tried to raise their voice against these issues. In the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker, he shows the views of the victorian women in society and as well with the role the new women played in the era. Though the new women didn’t follow the victorian ideals society adapted to their change and the way they wanted to be. The new women plays a huge role in our society today. Almost every women in our world has the right to live like a new woman in our world today.

The victorian era where the women are dominated by the male force and are also really limited to what they could do. In the Victorian Era the women was more of a subservient force whereas the male was the dominant force. The role of the new women in society is completely opposite. The new women has her own views, she is not dominated by a male figure that surrounds her life. The new women she cares about her own views on issues rather than what society thinks it should be viewed as. Both the new woman figure role and the victorian women role are seen in the novel by stoker. Mina and Lucy are the two women introduced by stoker as new women. Both the ladies go on a long walk with each other and are extremely hungry. Mena at lucy eat so much that it was hard for them to walk. “I believe we should have shocked the "New Woman" with our appetites (Stoker 69)”. Stoker shows the new women in the novel back from them following the victorian ideals to when they changed into the new women. In Dracula, there were many instances where stoker uses the female characters to show the different views of women on the society. Stoker really tries to bring out how the new women is more open to what she can do.
