Mrs.Parsons is a great example “ Do you think you can come across and have a look at our kitchen sink? Its got blocked up”(pg 20). This is a very simple job that she could of done. Winston himself said “ These amatuer repair jobs were a daily irritation”(pg 20). This simply goes to show that she cannot perform simple tasks like these on daily basis. Big Brother portrays the women with minimal intellect and passive minds. They want the women to be stay at home moms so they can take care of their children. In the book 1984 it states how women usually do not know or do not want to be associated at all with politics. Julia mentions that several times that has no concern over politics or anything in the past. Winston states that the party specifically did not invent airplanes. Julia did not seem to care who invented the airplanes, but what shocked me and many of the readers was how she simply forgot that four years ago Oceania had been at war with Eastasia and Peace with Eurasia(pg 154) . This piece of information is vital because it displays how women are ignorant. How can julia forget something that important , if the parties keeps making changes . No one will ever know the truth this just goes to show how the party is manipulative and how women are so gullible . Do women in 1984 not have common sense. Another piece of evidence that SHOWS women are viewed as ignorant is
