Women's Roles In World War II

World War II was not the first time the women were used to help fight a war. In World War I women were also used to cleaned, cooked and took care of the house. Also women were the ones who had the victory gardens for the soldiers when they returned home from the war. They took care of the kids and satisfied the men. Women worked in factories making artillery, like ammunition for the soldiers so the men didn’t have to do so much work. Now some may say that the women roles in World War I were the same in World War II, but I would have to disagree. The main help came from in the factories where the women worked long and hard hours. In the factories women were able to build ships that were used to fight at sea and to trade with other countries. Women also built tanks and jeeps so that the men wouldn’t have to travel on foot all the time during war. Another thing the women built in the factories were airplanes and weapons for the men at war. It was amazing how the women were able to just jump into play and be a big help in the war and still maintain a steady home with the children. Now though some worked in labor others worked to sell war bonds and make victory gardens. These war bonds were money that was used fund the war and the victory gardens were ran by the women to grow there own food for the men at war. Many participated in both war bonds and victory gardens because anything that could be done to help in the war women and others did. In conclusion to World War II, the role of the women were the most significant of the era because without the help of women the men would’ve fell short to the enemy because they couldn’t do it by themselves. This total war with women showed the men that women should be able to work some jobs that men work because they are capable to fulfill the job.
