Women who choose to drink alcohol while being pregnant causes the baby to be born with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). I want to know why women chose to drink, even when they know that it will cause the baby to be in danger. I am interested in talking about birth defects in babies from mothers who consumes alcohol during pregnancy. All of the Scholarly Sources I choose agrees with my thesis. Most of the sources in GALILEO believe that women who drink alcohol during pregnancy will cause the baby to be born with serious birth defects. Gauthier also uses evidential support from CDC ( Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) “... estimates that 1 in 13 women drink alcohol during pregnancy” which means a 1 in 13 babies are born with FASDs. The author uses a chart to show the “ Research suggests that alcohol exposure in utro affects infants' immune function through a variety of mechanisms.
