For Centuries, women have never really been equally to our fellow man due to different cultural beliefs and how women have been seen come about in many areas of life. Women over the years have made a come up by now making up about half of the Workforce and doing many other things such as appear in politics, media, sports, etc. A quote, “In the sky, there is no distinction of east and west; people create distinctions out of their own minds and then believe them to be true.” by Siddhartha Gautama (United). The quote means that society creates the barrier of indifference between male and female even though it is a made up opinion, but in reality there is no indifference between the two other then sex organs and physical features. …show more content…

Plato would agree that society is in the wrong and that Women in fact have the capability of achieving the same accomplishments as men, if the society is educated to learn the there is no difference between the two then life would be better for both. Statics in fact show that Women are now receiving more degrees then men but when it comes to leadership roles that they are not “qualified” or represented to obtain those positions like being an CEO of a company. Even growing up you may have noticed the younger girls always seemed to be more mature and developed then the same age or older boys. The girls would always have the better grades then the boys but the boys always showed a more leadership personality because girls grew up being told that boys are the Alpha or more dominate gender. In 1985 about 53 percent of all college students were women, more than one quarter of who were above age 29 (WIC). Women are now more then half of the population of the students who attend college which indicates that the male gender are either dropping out or do not even bother with getting an education and they rather go straight into the workforce doing labor,
