Introduction
In the articles “ Prostitution Demeans Women and Prostitution Can Benefit Women,” prostitution became the subject of great controversy. One side argues that prostitution is a choice and provides them with money, independence, dignity, and freedom. On the other side of the argument it, states that, prostitution promotes the demeaning of women and the way that women are seen as sex symbols and sexual gratifications. Prostitution has always been a controversial subject, many people feel as if the whole business destroys lives and leads to dire consequences.

Although, personally I don’t believe in the acts of sexuality being something to depend on money wise, I do however understand that it’s the life that some women chose to engage in. By making prostitution legal, it gives these women the opportunity to make such a job at least legal and not having to fear going to jail for their work. The government should take charge in the regulation of prostitution and dictate what goes on and make it safe for these women. By, the government taking charge and setting forth guidelines this could hinder the acts of underage girls being forced into this type of lifestyle and lead to the possible decline in STI and HIV rates. Regulation can make this lifestyle safer for these women and maybe open up new doors for them. Also, with the government taking control it is possible that, the feminists would back off and possibly being more acceptable of the issues at hand. By being more open to the issues and understanding more of where the women are coming from, the feminists could contribute to a government regulate program to ensure it’s being ran
