throughout history men have been in control of many things in this world. Views on women as less fit for taking care of certain task and it didn't make a difference in the event that she had some foundation or a smidgen of education. Society has looked upon men and seen men as the provider and there was not other way of looking at them. Women must be in the house doing what "women were useful for" that was to fulfill the men's needs and take care of the kids. Throughout the day women were assume to stay home and tend to their young one and cook meals for them. It's sad that many places today we still see this going on. In the book "Women Across Cultures" we see a hefty portion of sections that discusses women inequality around the world. The

In any case, in the second week when we dive into the topic and discussed about the harsh things women have to go through it was incredible and eye opening to me. There is an absence of autonomy and opportunity in western countries. Women are view as a simple object for different things. It could be for slavery, being servants or working in sweatshop businesses. This was one of those courses that actually taught me real life scenarios of the world around us. This was incredibly useful for my future and my career because we do have to think more critically. We do have to ask question of what is happening and where is occurring. We have to put ourselves into those kind of situation that these people have to go through everyday of their lives. Without this course I don't think I wouldn't ended up picking up a greater point of view of the lousy circumstance that go in this world. My own life will likewise be influenced by this in light of the fact that no longer will I consider that real issues are only going on in the U.S. There are more serious issues outside and we cannot deny that the stuff we experience in this country is a small percentage of the catastrophic situations that happen outside here. This class made me acknowledge of where I'm living today and yes there will be harsh circumstances in this nation and would have distinctive perspectives on things.
