Pretty background art but pretty bland. This film is rather slow, and does not culminate to any grandiose revelations within the plot nor the audience. My worldview isn’t transformed, but that’s not what this film is meant to do. This film creates a relatable surface level tale of a mother and her struggle in raising bastardised children. And while the symbolism of being part wolves create a somewhat outcasted or even hidden family secret dynamic (as with being fatherless may (though they are still fatherless too)), there is not much else to be said about the film’s display of human nature beyond this. For a two hour film this movie was much too drawn out. This movie deservedly earned an above average score of 7/10 on my MAL; as such, Wolf Children tells a heartwarming tale of a mother and her struggles in raising children, while not so much as jerking tears but leaving one slightly sombered with misty eyes like a mother letting go of her 10 year old to live as a forest
