I'm running to the woods with my pack. I see the blurs of reds, browns, and blacks of each wolf's fur and I follow. I speed up; I am Alpha and I should be leading the pack. My white paws crush the snow with each rapid step. I am in front and now we are in the woods. I slow down and the pack follows. I hear something, and my solid white fur stands on end. I take a whiff, and I smell a family of deer and another doe further in the woods. I crouch, a motion the rest of the wolves copy. Our ears flick around, and I sound off a single bark. The deer run far out in front of us; they are fast, but we are faster. We catch up easily, and one wolf pounces on the buck and I pounce on one doe. We let the fawn live along with the other doe. She will raise the fawn as her own and we will hunt them later. I lunge at the doe's throats causing blood to splatter and the doe to twitch until she does not move. The wolf who got the buck does the same and the whole pack drags the deer to the den, and we all dig in. I eat first, Beta next, …show more content…
Beta Female stayed back at the den with Omega, Beta Male and my newborn pups. Alpha Male is teaching the pups how to crouch and listen for any sound. The pups' tiny ears flick, as the listen and we are here for hours. The pups turn forty-five degrees. They hear a family of rabbits. The pups slowly crawl to where the rabbits are and are spotted. The rabbits dash away from the pups, and the pups chase them. Each rabbit is caught and Alpha Male and I tell the pups to eat their first kill. Once the pups finish, the pack heads back to the den, and I lie down next to my pups. Alpha Male looks at us and then howls at the full moon and the rest of us howl with him. With the howl finished, Alpha Male lays next to me. Our pack is happy and healthy, and we are safe. This is the life of a strong pack. This is the life of my pack. The pack where I, Snow Paws, am Alpha

In a pack, only the alpha male and the beta female are allowed to mate to reproduce. The reason for this behavior is to ensure there is enough food for all the pups. There can be up to twelve pups born at one time. The females typically give birth to pups in dens, either in a den previously dug, a den dug in the snow, or a cave. Around a month after mating, the female will find one of these places to give birth to her pups.…

The idea behind werewolves expresses what humans feel regarding impulsive and violent qualities humans are capable of. It also addresses the violence and urge of destruction in humans. By antagonizing wolves we create boundary between humans and animals, humans separate the negative qualities found in humans and attributes them to a more primitive version of humans.
