From my understanding, Wlodkowski begins with a biological basis for adult motivation and he explains why our brains are wired in certain ways. I believe the author is trying to say why some motivational tactics work better than others and that even the non-scientific reader will discover that this report provides a solid basis for the rest of the book. However, there are similar strategies and tips throughout the book that remind teachers that their tasks are not only to lead scholarly persons’ as they advance through their college careers, but to motivate and inspire.
