Have you ever wanted to try out a new game to play, but wanted to read about it first? In this review, I reviewed one of the few family-friendly games around: Wizard101. Wizard101 is a fantasy-set MMORPG, or Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game, where you go on quests to take down the ultimate enemy of them all with magic you learn as you progress through the game. Because this game is still around after seven years of production, I evaluated this game on three criteria: gameplay, story, and graphics. While this game is older and more out of date versus today’s MMOs, the game brings endless fun whenever you can be online! The first piece of criteria I reviewed is the gameplay of this game. Many MMOs go above and beyond with their story to make it exciting, yet interesting all at the same time. When the game first debuted in 2008, the first chapter of the story was not yet even completed until early 2009. The game falls currently in two, beginning the third, arcs. Arc one being the beginning story, between the levels 1-50, introducing the first evil villain, Malistaire Drake. A long time professor of the school of death, Malistaire betrayed the Ravenwood School of Magic Arts to attempt to take over the spiral and the many worlds belonging to it. With the help of the Headmaster, Ambrose, and along with your professor of your chosen magic, you explore the spiral and the many worlds to lower the threat the Malistaire until the ultimate battle with Malistaire himself. Arc two, levels 51-100, releases a new villain by the name of Morganthe, a death student of Malistaire. Morganthe was among the advance in her class, and wanting to absorb all of the power in the spiral that she could. She was first encountered at the end of the first world in the second Arc, Celestia, conveying her plan to do what her professor couldn’t. When she began to learn magic that has been lost in the spiral for ages, that is when the Headmaster decides “in order to take her down, you must gain that lost power.” And so, I, along with many other players, obtained
