In the movie based off of L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz, each of the characters, especially the scarecrow, were looking through the entire plot for something that they already had. The scarecrow spends the entire movie wishing for a brain, when there are several examples in the movie that proof that he could think perfectly well. The first point of the scarecrow’s ability to think comes in his ability to talk. As stated by Dorothy in the movie, you need to be able to think in order to talk. Despite the scarecrow’s protests, it is clear that there had to be some thinking involved in his speech.
