The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book has countless differences compared to the movie. To name all of them would take hours. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a children’s novel written by L. The book, released in May of 1900, has been reprinted numerous times but often under the name The Wizard of Oz, which is the name of the 1902 Broadway musical and the popular 1939 film adaptation. Some people prefer the book, while others would rather see the movie; it all depends on someone’s preference. I personally like the movie more than the book, because I’m more of a visual learner. The Wizard of Oz movie is an American musical fantasy film produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and directed by Victor Fleming. Initially, the movie was not a box office success earning only $3,017,000 on a $2,777,000 budget. The plots of the book and the movie are quite similar, except for some rather minor details. One of the most notable and obvious differences between the book and movie are Dorothy’s shoes. In the movie, Dorothy’s slippers are ruby red and in the movie they are silver. There are different theories going around about the shoes color change between the movie and book.
