Upon the heath.
Third Witch
There to meet with Macbeth."

Three hags know that they meet Macbeth, they wait for this encounter. Everything has been planned, their trick to take Macbeth for a ride has been successful. Even Hecate's speech in act three, scene 5 dispels sb's doubts concerning witches' intentions towards Macbeth:
"Have I not reason, beldams as you are,
Saucy and overbold? How did you dare
To trade and traffic with Macbeth
In riddles and affairs of death;
And I, the mistress of your charms,
The close contriver of all harms,
Was never call'd to bear my part,
Or show the glory of our art?
And, which is worse, all you have done
Hath been but for a wayward son,
Spiteful and wrathful, who, as others do,
Loves for his own ends, not for you.
But make amends now: get you gone,
And at the pit of Acheron
Meet me i' the morning: thither he
Will come to know his destiny:
Your vessels and your spells provide,
Your charms and every thing beside.
I am for the air; this night I'll spend
Unto a dismal and a fatal end:
Great business must be wrought ere noon:
Upon the corner of the moon
There hangs a vaporous drop profound;
I'll catch it ere it come to ground:
And that distill'd by magic

    MacBeth murders many, yet ironically suffers the most. He eventually wishes he were dead, so that he could sleep and put his mind at ease. Being King should have put his mind in a fair state. Instead, it put him in a foul state of restlessness, where he envies the deceased. He declares, “Better be with the dead, whom we, to gain our peace, have sent to peace, than on the torture of the mind to lie in restless ecstasy” (III, ii, 22-25).…

    In the theatrical play The Tragedy of Macbeth, through showcasing Macbeth’s rapid decline in accountability from nullifying the consequences of his actions and symptom of confirmation bias, Shakespeare demonstrates that Macbeth’s character traits ultimately hold the most power over his own actions. While Macbeth is tasking the murderers with killing Banquo, he reasoned that “though I could with barefaced power sweep him from my sight and bid my will avouch it, yet I must not, for certain friends that are both his and mine, whose loves I may not drop, but wail his fall who I myself struck down. And thence it is, That I to your assistance do make love, masking the business from the common eye for sundry weighty reasons” (3.1.136-142). Despite…

    Macbeth grows to trust the witches more, instead of confiding in his wife. Macbeth goes to the witches for advice, and it is their advice that placates him and gives him confidence in his power – even if it is false confidence. He calls on the witches to answer his questions, even when he knows there are risks. “I conjure you by which you profess / Howe’er you come to know it, answer me” (4.1.66-67). He recognizes that they are supernatural (then most likely viewed as sinful and evil), but he goes on in this dangerous discourse anyway.…
