Specialization: The Wisdom Method

The wisdom method, is characterized by specialization. With specialization comes an intense knowledge of a limited area, this can be a country, region, culture, or specific job. In addition, specialization implies that the person is well versed in whatever they are a specialist in. In the wisdom method there are few cases, but many variables. This method is highly dependent on the quality of the analyst, therefore the reader must put their trust in that the analyst knows what they are talking about, and that all the information being presented is true. Within the department itself, there are people that specialize on certain tasks and areas. For example, there is the Department of State which is then broken up into sectors, which are then broken up into the individuals that run them. Also, in certain circumstance, the quality of the data is dependent on whoever is handling. In the process of the executive secretariats handing over a condensation of the daily summary to the Secretary, faith is put on the executive secretariat that he or she selected the important facts, and that they know what they are talking about. Another key factor leading the reader to believe that the Department of State uses the wisdom method, is that it is extremely difficult for a person to replicate the entire process by which the Department of State gathers information. How is someone supposed to go through the entire process, without having special permissions from the department itself, let alone get their hands on the telegrams which are being traded? It is nearly impossible. There is also a lack of generalization. There are no patterns that the Department of State uses. Rather, the sectors within the department use current knowledge in order to deal with whatever is going on. The research is then shared through documentation (the telegraphs). Not only that, the department as a whole does not specialize on one area alone. They deal with everything and anything that has to do with the sanctity of the state itself, therefore there is a lack of specialization in that sense. However, the department is dealing with events in which they have little control. This means that there certain variables that come up depending on the case. It is due to this fact that the results of whatever the Department of State are doing, are individual. The results are not dependent on the Department of State, rather on what the Department of State is working with. In the example given, the science method also benefits the Department of State due to the fact that it is a major change. With the overthrowing of the government, surely new policies are going to be created to deal with the new regime. There are also instance, in which the Department of State employs both
