A time when a curiosity led me to someplace i wasn't expecting to go was when everyone in my school was going to a winter camp in New York. The question my teacher asked me is who would like to attend. Couple of my friends were excited to go, and i was excited as well. We are all going to camp in New York for 4 weeks? i said to myself that's going to be awesome! Leaving Springfield for the first time without my parents or being on my own for the first time? The curiosity and the thoughts were priceless and endless. When my father and i went out to shop for camping supplies, i was so hyped up, psyched up like i was running around the store due to my excitement. I just couldn't wait to go. The next day it was time for us to leave my teacher

"So this is White Pines," my nephew grinned, his dark brown eyes darted here and there as he took in the scene before him. "This is it," I answered, wishing I could crawl inside his head and see his first impressions of our simple mountain home. Deep inside I believed curiosity had been the impetus behind my nephew's visit. Had we lived a "normal" life, I'm not so sure he would have ever made the trip, especially by himself. We felt honored that my nephew had come all the way across the country for a visit and intended on giving him exactly what he'd requested: an authentic, "White Pines" experience, crazy or not.…

If you ever happen to catch me in a cut off you might see that on my left shoulder there is tattoo of mountains, pine trees, and five birds leading up to my collar bone. You might ask the meaning, or you might just tell me how much you like it and compliment the artist and ask me where I got it done or ask if I have any others. You might never see a goal as a reason to get a tattoo but Mountains are my goal. My family and I visited the Rocky Mountain National Park the summer after my Junior year in highschool.
